On Saturday, September 28 BCCI announced Indian T20I squad for upcoming series against Bangladesh which starts from October 6.
The selection committee announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming T20I series lead by Suryakumar Yadav. Varun Chakravarthy return and all-rounder Nitish Reddy also include with Rising Star Mayank Yadav. in case many player are rested for upcoming Test series against New Zealand.
In this case Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan are not include in 15-member squad for the upcoming T20I but Sanju Samson was out Zero in the last 2 matches in T20, that can be surprising for indian cricket fan.
Why Ruturaj Gaikwad was not slected
Ruturaj Gaikwad play last match against Zimbabwe in July 2024. In Asian Game Gaikwad lead indian team and win GOld Medel but he is not fix his place in Indian Team. Ruturaj Gaikwad ranked number 9 in ICC T20 rankings. He played 23 T20 for india and score 633 runs with an average of 39.56. his best score 123* in T20.
Ruturaj Gaikwad is currently captain of Rest of India team in the Irani Cup against Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai Indians from October 5, which ends just before the T20I series starts against Bangladesh.
Due to tight schedule, there are worries about whether he will be available for the first match on October 6. Some believe that if he’s not needed for the whole series, he might join the team for the later games instead.
Why Ishan Kishan was not slected
Ishan Kishan T20I debut for India on March 14, 2021, against England in Ahmedabad. He had an amazing start, scoring 56 runs from just 32 balls with player of the match award. Kishan played last T20 matchs against Australia in November 2023. He has played a total of 32 T20I matches for India.
Ishan Kishan was also part of the Rest of India squad for the Irani Cup. which means his return in international cricket might be delayed. Accourding to Reports, Jitesh Sharma did better than him in the fight for the backup wicketkeeper place behind Sanju Samson, who will be the main wicketkeeper with Rishabh Pant still unavailable.
